Beach Wear
What else does one wear to a sandcastle building contest? We went to the 31st Annual Imperial Beach Sandcastle Building Contest last weekend and this guy was wearing this amazing hat. It reminded me of Beach Blanket Babylon… I kept looking for Val Diamond.

Comic-Con: Part II
Dan and I went down to the convention center this morning to catch a few of the Comic-Con attendees in their costumes. What fun! BTW: If we didn’t know a particular character, then we made up names with “-man” or “-woman” on the end. For example, if a guy was carrying a suitcase then he would be “Suitcase Man.” We just made up our own superheroes…

Friday Night in Ocean Beach
Billy Ray, Dan and I drove up to Ocean Beach last night for some Mexican food and a little photo safari. It was a typical busy Friday night along the main street so we walked down the beach to watch the sunset. We were a little early so decided to get back in the car and head over to Sunset Cliffs. Along the way we ran into a beautiful macaw who was enjoying the evening on his rooftop. Dan snapped a fun shot of me trying to get a picture of the bird. By the time we got over to Sunset Cliffs the was almost setting so we got our cameras out and snapped a few more photos. I managed to capture Dan on the stairs doing one of his favorite things—taking photos of surfers. Enjoy!

Comic-Con
Comic Con is in San Diego at the convention center. It was fun just standing outside and watching the crowds go by. It’s kind of like Halloween in July. Enjoy the cast of characters!

Summertime
Bill and I drove up to La Jolla the other evening for some fish tacos and fresh air. After dinner we headed down to my favorite beach—Windansea—to watch the people and enjoy the sunset.

2011 San Diego Gay Pride Celebration
I feel like I’m posting my summer vacation slides. You know… the endless slides of your vacation that puts everyone to sleep. However, I was able to trim the number of photos down from 550 to about 62 so I hope you enjoy the show.
It was a great parade and this year—and I believe this is a first—the armed service members were allowed to march in the parade—although not in their dress uniforms. Still… it was still wonderful to see them in the parade.
