Last night I went out with my friends, Dan and Vivian, to La Jolla for some fish tacos at Wahoo’s and a photo safari. We ended up at Windansea Beach—which I’ve also seen called Neptune Beach—to catch the sunset. It’s been quite warm lately and there were lots of people on the beach—surfers, other photographers and folks just enjoying the beautiful evening.

We were waiting for the sun to set when a sea lion decided to just pop out of the waves—amongst all the surfers—and perch himself on a rock close to where we had been shooting photos. It didn’t take long for folks to gather ’round and honestly, I think he was enjoying all the attention. I have to say it was pretty cool.

P.S. I did manage to fall off a rock at the end of the evening trying to escape from a large wave. Besides a few cuts and scrapes, my camera (thank goodness) and I made it out alive
