Scripps Pier

I took a drive up to La Jolla this morning with my friend, Dan. We headed up to the Scripps Pier and found the cactus flowers in full bloom.

A Night at the Park

This past week Dan and I drove over to Balboa Park to see if we couldn’t find some fun shots. Here are a couple of my favorite photos from the evening.

Parks & Recreation

We’ve had rain the past couple of day, but it stopped for the most part late Sunday afternoon so I headed over to Balboa Park. There’s a large building at the end of the park and I always wondered what it was so I checked it out. Turns out the building is the headquarters for the Balboa Parks & Recreation Department. Upon further inspection I found these wonderful architectural structures along side and behind the building. There’s also a beautiful tiled fountain in the middle of the grounds. Enjoy!

Early Morning in Balboa Park

We’ve been having some “weather” lately so I decided to head over to Balboa Park before work. It’s such a beautiful place to watch the sun rise and peaceful at that hour of the morning. Enjoy!

San Diego Mission

Dan and I drove out to the San Diego Mission and the Old Mission Dam this morning. It was overcast so the light wasn’t the best, but a little blue sky eventually broke through the fog so we made the bast of it. Enjoy!

Pier Cafe

Since the clouds hung around for one more day I drove back down to the waterfront. I’ve always thought the Pier Cafe in Seaport Village was a cool old building so I snapped a few photos. Enjoy!

P.S. The streak in the sky in one of the photos is a helicopter that flew by while the shutter was open.

More Sunsets

I just wanted to post a couple more photos from last night’s beautiful sunset. Enjoy!

Marina Sunset

We had some rain today so I drove down to the marina next to Seaport Village to catch the sunset and I wasn’t disappointed. The clouds were really something tonight. Enjoy!

San Juan Capistrano Mission

This morning Dan and I drove up to San Juan Capistrano to visit the historic mission. It was a beautiful morning and folks were waiting at the entrance to get inside—including a number of photographers. After walking around and taking in some the sites it was soon obvious as to why this is such a popular place to capture photos. The old mission ruins are amazing and the gardens are alive with hummingbirds and butterflies. Enjoy!

A Sunset for Mollie

We had some beautiful clouds this evening so I ran over to the golf course to snap a few photos. While I was there I met a very nice woman, Molly, who lives in our neighborhood and stopped to watch the beautiful sunset. Enjoy!
