Fountains in Balboa Park

Dan and I visited Balboa Park last evening and snapped a few photos of the fountains we found there. Enjoy!

Petco Stadium

Petco Stadium—the home of the San Diego Padres. I hadn’t been to the stadium before so Dan and I took a drive down there last evening. It’s a beautiful stadium with a lot of historical buildings surrounding the park. It is truly a blend of old and new—including the very modern stainless steel foot bridge that goes from the park to the Hilton Hotel and waterfront adjacent to the park. Another feature of the park is that folks can watch the game from a park area outside the stadium where they are greeted by a statue of Tony Gwynn—”Mr. Padre.” Here are a few snapshots… enjoy!

All Along the Waterfront

It rained most of today, but the clouds parted in the late afternoon so I decided to take a quick drive downtown. When I got down to the waterfront the sun was beginning to set and the reflection of the sky was beautiful in these buildings at the marina. Enjoy!

Horton Plaza

I met Dan and Andrew tonight for dinner. After dinner, Dan and I drove downtown to the Horton Plaza. It’s a pretty cool shopping mall in the heart of downtown San Diego. We waited until the lights went on before setting up our tripods. We got a few photos and then the security guards showed up. Who knew you couldn’t take photos after 5:00 pm? Evidently, you have to request special permission before photographing at night… bummer. Anyway, here’s what I was able to steal before we got busted. Enjoy!
