On a Winter’s Day
I’m playing around with black and white photography and these surfers at Windansea Beach were great subjects.

This week has been exciting here in San Diego. Big waves coming in from Japan have been crashing on the shores and the surfers have been having a blast.
My friend, Dan, and I drove up to La Jolla to see what was going on and, as usual, we weren’t disappointed. When we arrived there was still quite a fog over the water, but it soon started to clear and it turned out to be a beautiful morning for photographing the local sea life. Enjoy!
I drove up to Del Mar this morning to catch some of the dog surfing competition. I wasn’t willing to venture into the water (too cold) so I wasn’t able to get too many good surfing photos, but I had fun snapping photos of the dogs on the beach. I also only stayed around for the small dog portion of the competition. Enjoy!
You’d think I have too much free time on my hands. Not really, but every once in awhile I enjoy playing with my photos so… I decided to take a few photos from the OMBAC (Old Mission Bay Athletic Club) Classic Surf competition and see if I could come up with a “poster.” Here’s the result.
I rode up to Pacific Beach this morning to catch some of the longboard surfing competition. It was overcast and the waves weren’t huge, but there was a great turnout and the surfers looked they were enjoying the day. I like going to Pacific Beach to photograph the surfers and it almost seemed like these folks were going in slow motion compared to what I see when they’re on the shorter boards. Enjoy!
On a warm Sunday in Pacific Beach you can either relax on a bench or go surfing… Enjoy your last days of summer.
I love going up to Pacific Beach where I can watch the surfers from the pier. Enjoy!
