Page 2 - Our Mexico Adventure - Volume 2
P. 2

Our adventure continues in this volume. I’ve included some photos from our road trips to places like Atotonilco where we visited the Santuario de Jesús Nazareno de Atotonilco. Built in the 18th century by Father Luis Felipe Neri de Alfaro, this spectacular church is considered the Sistine Chapel of Mexico. We also visited places like Troncones and Zihuatenejo where Juliet got her first visit to the ocean, Bernal and Mineral de Pozos.
For two years in a row, we had the privilege of traveling to Michoacán to witness one of nature’s most spectacular gifts—the migration of the monarch butterflies. There simply are no words to describe the this extraordinary event.
Closer to home, we volunteered at the Don Diego community center on the edge of town where the children learn to play chess, ballet, math, piano and— most importantly—read and learn English.
Last but certainly not least are the parades like the festival of St. Michael and La Alborada. The Mexican folks definitely know how to throw a party. What a feast for the eyes.
