Mexico is a very friendly country. Don’t be surprised if you are invited to someone’s home for a comida after having just met. Seasoned travelers will agree: Mexican kindness is unmatched in the world. Over the years, many of the very kind people of San Miguel de Allende, from of all walks of life, have generously opened their doors and hearts to me, and to my camera.
This book is dedicated to them.
Most of the places and events photographed in these pages are private and not accessible to the general public or tourist, or, unfortunately, have disappeared entirely. Many people who live at the places featured have expressed the wish to remain anonymous so I have not provided names or exact locations of many of the properties photographed.
And now, I want to share with you, the reader, a bit of the amazing ‘only in San Miguel de Allende’ places and moments I’ve seen here over the years.
